The DSG6 is a gearbox that can cope 350Nm and is for the TDIs as well as the T (F)SI. The newer DSG7 can only cope 250Nm and will be for the 1.8TSI and smaller TDIs. Thats why I think you cannot compare them. actually what i am interested in is the dry and wet clutch technology of the DSG and the durability

I bought my octavia 1.4 tsi manual gearbox in mai 2014. One month after buying the car I heard a noise from the gearbox when the engine was cold. This happened when releasing the clutch while the gearbox was in neutral gear. Have been twice to my dealer and after opening the gearbox (6days in service) they stated that it is a normal noice.

This is more noticeable when the engine and gearbox warm up. There is a shudder from the drive train when pulling away from stop and again when accelerating from a low speed, the judder stops as the box changes up through the gears. The box is a 7 speed dsg Octavia fsi 1.4 Petrol. 1.

A 1.0 TSI has a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG which does not have a service schedule, recommendations or guidelines for oil changes. All New Octavia do not have Sealed for Life DSG's. Wet clutch 6 speed DSG's in 1.4 TSI PHEV's have a service interval, as do 7 speeds 2.0 TDI or TSI's. and AWD's.
